Weekend Giveaway - Zoku Duo Quick Pop Maker

Friday, September 7, 2012
I have owned a Zoku Duo Quick Pop maker since the summer of 2011. I remember when I bought it - Gabe immediately said "this is another small appliance that will not be used". I have to admit, I have a large problem with small appliances.

Much to Gabe's amazement, I actually use the Zoku. I get super creative with different popsicles, including adult versions. Zoku has a lot of recipes which you can find here.

One of my favorite pops to date is an Avocado Chocolate Chip pop. I know you may turn your nose up to the name, but it is creamy and delicious. You simply take half an avocado, remove the flesh, put into a blender, add 1/8 cup or more of coconut milk, you want medium consistency. Add some honey to make it sweeter. 8 minutes later, you have a pop!

I experimented a lot with adult pops and finally got it down. I made cucumber watermelon lemonade pops. Very refreshing. 1 tablespoon of Skinny Girl Cucumber Vodka, 1 tablespoon of watermelon vodka and a 1/4 cup of lemonade. Slice a cucumber very thin and put one slice on each side of the stick. This took a little longer to freeze due to the vodka.

On Zoku's site, they feature a caramel corn pop. How pretty is this? Next on my list of must try recipes.

    1. The avocado pops are so good! If you aren't the winner, you could make them in large ice cube trays too (like the ones I made my raspberry ice cubes with on Thursdays post)
