Suja Juice 3 Day Juice Cleanse - 12 Days of Christmas Day 4 #giveaway

Thursday, December 5, 2013
A few months ago, I attended the International Food Bloggers Conference in Seattle and was introduced to Suja Juice. Suja has a variety of products including Cold Pressed 100% certified organic and vegan 3-day cleanse. We own a juicer and have attempted to juice. Usually by mid-day, I gave in and cheated. Gabe usually lasts through day 2 before he waved the white flag (but blames me on this). I sometimes drink a juice for my breakfast and my favorite juice in the world is a carrot, apple and ginger juice.

Suja offered me a 3 day juice cleanse to review so I jumped on it. This was perfect timing, right after traveling to New Orleans, New York and Seattle. Suja Juice is super convenient and you can have the juices shipped directly to you. If you've ever juiced before, you know how expensive, time consuming and messy it is. I loved opening my fridge and taking out the scheduled juice of the day.

With Suja Juice's 3 day clceanse, you drink 6 juices daily within the three day duration. During the cleanse, you stay hydrated with waters and tea. Although I missed caffeine, I tricked my body with caffeine free tea. Staying hydrated is a must during the cleanse since your body will be releasing so many toxins.
Day One
I started off by drinking a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and a glass of water as instructed to alkalize my body. Once I felt hungry, I started with Juice number one -Glow. This juice was good and reminded me of a juice I frequently make myself. I drank the bottle and put my timer on for drink number two, Fuel. As I stated above, I love carrot juice so drinking this was no problem. I felt great but was starting to get hungry. I knew it was mind over matter at this point. When it came time for drink three, Purify, I could hardly get it in me. This was the only juice of the six that I strongly disliked and it was because of the Beats. I hate Beats. Drink four was Fiji and I was starving. I was also having some belly issues I would rather not discuss. Drink five was my favorite of all, Green Supreme. By this time, I became very moody and hated anyone that was eating food. You are able to eat a sweet potato if you have to, which I did. My plain butter-free and season-less sweet potato was the best thing I have ever ate. Drink six was Vanilla Cloud, also known as dessert. It was sweet and had chunks of coconut in it. I gave Gabe a sip and he loved it.

Day Two
I am not a breakfast person and I woke up dreaming of pancakes. Gabe grabbed me my first juice of the day, which I happily drank. Day two was much easier on my belly. Other than feeling the crazy urge to eat everything in my pantry, including the cat food, I did much better this day. I made another sweet potato to go along with my dinner juice and didn't eat it. Overall I felt amazing and was in a great mood.

Day Three
When I woke up on day three, I did not miss coffee. I was mentally planning out my first meal and knew I wanted to go to Berns Steakhouse the following day. Day three ended up being very rough and not because I missed eating solid food. We had a 3+ hour engagement photo shoot this day. When I started the juice cleanse, I did not consider this being a burden to the shoot. I didn't bring my juices with me and did not think the photo session would take that long. I ended up missing my scheduled juice 4 and 5 and about an hour into the shoot, my blood sugar dropped and I went into shock. Since I didn't have the juice on me, I drank a large powerade to try and get sugar back into my system. After nearly blacking out not once but three times, I had to eat. I ate a few crackers and felt better. I had 3 juices left in the system when I had to quit because I knew I wouldn't be home for a few more hours. Although I was sad to quit, the whole situation ended up being comical at the end. Our engagement shoot was at Busch Gardens during Howl-O-Scream. We had Zombies and the Voodoo Queen in our shoot. When I nearly passed out the first time, the Voodoo Queen took care of me while the Zombies were instructing others to get me something to drink. I look back on this day and have to laugh about all of it.

I initially lost 8 pounds on my three day Suja juice cleanse. 3 pounds of that was water weight. That other 5lbs has stayed off since (I did this cleanse in September). I believe the cleanse jump started my metabolism and would do it again!

  1. Definitely fruit juices! I've got a major sweet tooth so I've always been highly attracted to fruit :)

  2. Veggie, for sure. I've done a fruit cleanse before so this would be a great change.

  3. I like both, but fruit ones are usually more pleasant!
I did the Suja cleanse October and am doing a second one this weekend. This is the first time I have done something like this and have been able to keep the weight off, so I am curious how the second time will work.
Kudos for hanging in there, that first day can be rough.

  4. I love a good combo juice! The sweet fruit hides the harshness of straight veggies!

  11. I am a HUGE fruit juice fan - but you're so right - juicing is hard and messy. This system sounds kinda awesome.
