Dine Tampa Bay Restaurant Week 2013

Tuesday, August 6, 2013
In a matter of 10 days,  Dine Tampa Bay Restaurant week will kick off it's delicious two week event, from August 16-30. Flashback to two summers ago, I had just moved to Tampa. That August, I experienced my first Dine Tampa Bay and I used this opportunity to get familiar with the many restaurants in our area while not breaking the bank.

Here's how it works, choose from 90 restaurants who offer a $25, $35 or $45 prix fixe menu specially designed for this event! You can choose your restaurant based on the amount you want to spend per person.

Dine Tampa Bay is a two week event that I look forward to every year - exclusive prix fixe menus with appetizers, entrees and desserts. In 2013, 90 participating restaurants in the Bay area will be participating in Dine Tampa Bay. This is a great time to check out the latest culinary hot spot you've been waiting to try.

I had a wonderful opportunity to check out a few of the participating restaurants prior to the kickoff.

First up was Datz, a $25 restaurant. Datz is one of my favorite restaurants in Tampa and I speak of it quite often on this blog. If you are in the area, I strongly suggest a visit to Datz, who has been featured on Travel Channel for their famous macaroni and cheese stuffed meatloaf (which is on Dine Tampa Bays menu!). For Dine Tampa Bay preview, I got to try Kim’s Kale Salad, The Kentucky Colonel Bowl and a camp fire tart.

Up next is the Melting Pot, another 3 course meal for $25 restaurant. Guys, take a hint - take your special lady here during Dine Tampa Bay. Their three course meal is a great deal for this restaurant and it is popular amongst most of my girlfriends. I learned something during in this trip - as I always upgrade my cooking method to the mojo blend, I never knew you could fry or tempura your food. Their Bourguignonne cooking oil was a special treat and I loved it!

I got the opportunity to head over to Pinnellas Park and try out the brand new restaurant Sushi Wave. This is a $35 restaurant during Dine Tampa Bay. Myself along with 20 others took down multiple sushi boats in the matter of minutes. I was very impressed with the sushi and you will be pleased with whatever you order from the menu.

Last but absolutely not least, we got to check out SHOR at Hyatt Regency Clearwater for their sneak peek menu. I love SHOR and was very excited to see what they would present to us. Dine Tampa Bay is a great opportunity to check out this restaurant and everything they have to offer at $35 a person for a three course meal! I have one strong suggestion - Lobster Mac and Cheese. 2. Although I am not familiar with the Dine Tampa Bay Restaurant week, it sounds fun and good food with great prices. Macaroni, tempura, meatloaf and salad look so good and delicious. The Zen symbol (ying and yang), which is flaunted in one of the food pictures, look awesome and yummy.
