September Foodie PenPal Revealed

Monday, October 1, 2012
Happy Foodie Penpal reveal day! I want to start off this post by talking about the small world of Foodie Penpal. There are over 1,000 of us. Last month, the Penpal I selected was Shera, what happened to go to High School with one of my Run Disney pals, Marcia. This month, after we received our pairings, Darlynn (Little Blog Dress) mentioned to me in a casual conversation that her Penpal happened to have the same name as my old boss (and friend) Melissa Shane. After Dar sent a note to Melissa introducing herself, she promptly received a response back that her penpal happened to be THE Melissa Shane. How random is that?

This month I had Krystal as my Foodie Penpal. After emailing back and forth, I found out that Krystal lives on the east coast of Florida, less than an hour from my hometown. She sent me some of her favorite treats which I excitedly tore into. The first thing I noticed was the Amish salsa and the bread. We have an market called Perrines Produce 3 blocks from my childhood home in Daytona which carries a ton of Amish food.
I instantly looked at the label of the delicious Raspberry Swirl Bread and sure enough - Perrine's Produce of South Daytona. This bread came from home!!
The Amish Old Fashion Tropical Salsa is simply amazing with seafood. I made a chipotle shrimp salad and used this instead of dressing. YUM.
These peanut butter filled pretzels didn't last a day in my house.
My Foodie Penpal monster (AKA Gabe) attacked the Cheese & Sesame crumbles before I could stop him. I was fortunate enough to have one.
My favorite of the lot had to be the Roast Vegetable & Fries spice blend. I love roasting veggies, especially in the fall. This is my new favorite spice.

This month, I was a Foodie Penpal to Lois of Lois Marketing You can see all the treats I sent her here.

If you are interested in becoming a foodie pen pal (which I strongly encourage), contact Lindsay at the Lean Green Bean. Here is a link to the registration sheet.
