Introducing Lee Roy Selmons Chicken and Waffles

Wednesday, October 17, 2012
I am a die hard Chicken and Waffles fan. Nine out of ten times, if it is on the menu, I will order it. I was very excited to learn Lee Roy Selmon's was adding Chicken and Waffles to their menu on October 18th. I have been eating Chicken and Waffles prior to it's sudden rush of popularity. I feel restaurants are making this simple southern dish into a gourmet menu item. As much as I love Chicken and Waffles, I have a very hard time spending $20 on the dish. Good news - Lee Roy Selmon's charges less than Ten Dollars for this savory dish.
I am a huge fan of Lee Roy Selmon's chain of restaurants as I am a Southern Girl at heart. I grew up eating simple and delicious comfort foods. This thoroughly defines Lee Roy Selmon's menu. The prices are more than reasonable and I never leave disappointed.  For the low price of $9.99, Lee Roy Selmon's Chicken and Waffles feature homemade buttermilk Belgian waffles, topped with sweet heat crispy chicken served with savory smashed potatoes, creamed corn, rich maple syrup and sweet homemade cinnamon pecan butter. That butter was to die for. They also use 6 tenders in this dish, which I prefer to bone in chicken. I have to get the perfect bite while feasting on this dish and it is hard to do that while fighting with a bone.

Eat Chicken and Waffles while giving back to the community!

  1. This looks delicious! I've actually never had chicken and waffles. I was debating between ordering that and my eventual meal at Miss Shirley's Cafe in Baltimore. It was a close call. Hopefully I get to try some awesome chicken and waffles soon :)

    Love the review!
