On Tuesday night, I was fortunate enough to attend a National Virtual Wine Tasting Event by Wine Twits. Jodi Fritch - Tampa Wine Woman hosted the event for an intimate group at Pelagia Trattoria. We sampled four wines paired with amazing food by Executive Chef Andrew Basch. This was my first visit to Pelagia Trattoria and it will not be my last.
Wine #1 was the Wente Vineyards Morning Fog Chardonnay 2010 #W9731. It was paired alongside strawberry's stuffed with blue cheese and my photo is not worthy of this post. The wine was excellent, but I already knew this as a fan of Wente.
Wine # 2 was Hahn Winery California Pinot Noir 2011 #W9741. It was paired with Pomegranate Duck Breast. It paired perfectly with the Hahn Pinot Noir. The Duck was perfectly seared. I loved it.
Garnet Vineyards Carneros Pinot Noir 2010 #W976. Now grasp yourself for this. It was paired with Homemade Braised Short Rib Ravioli with Jagermeister De-glazed Mushrooms!
Franciscan Estate Magniﬁcat 2008 #W975, paired with a Lamb T-Bone. I will be the first to admit that I am not a fan of Lamb, but this was awesome and I called my Mother immediately to let her know that I had lamb and enjoyed it!

Bravo to Chef Andrew, Jodi and Wine Twits for putting on an amazing tasting. All of the items we tried are on the Pelagia Trattoria menu and I can't wait to visit again! Pelagia Trattoria is located in the Marriott Renaissance at the International Plaza Mall.
