David Burke's Townhouse - NYC

Tuesday, August 7, 2012
I became familiar with Chef David Burke thanks to my Food Network at Top Chef addiction a few years ago. I remember seeing David Burke's Townhouse restaurant featured on one of the shows and I knew that I had to visit it during my trip to NYC.

After making the reservation on Open Table, I tweeted Chef Burke to let him know how excited we were to finally visit - I was not expecting this:
The day finally arrived and  we made our way over to Townhouse. Upon walking in, I blown away. The decor was whimsical yet elegant.

When the bread came out, I was a very excited girl as the butter was fun, served alongside a Popover! I may have eaten the whole thing!
We went during restaurant week and one of the many things I loved about Townhouse was that they allowed you to upgrade to other items that weren't part of the 3 selected restaurant week options. I ordered the Pretzel Crusted Crab Cake. I actually asked the waiter if I got the correct item as I've never seen a rectangle crab cake! I got Chef Burke's signature Crispy Chicken under a Salt Brick and we ended the meal with a Cheesecake Lollipop Tree with bubblegum whipped cream. Need I add the entire time we were there, every time I looked up at Darlynn, she was shaking her head no in disbelief? She couldn't believe how great our lunch was.

After finishing our lunch, we ended up staying for another cocktail and another dessert (note the Pisco Sour was my drink with lunch - love that it looks like an egg!)

Our second dessert was amazing. Chocolate Caramel Bar with Cracker Jacks.
After lunch, we asked for Teddy like Chef Burke instructed us to do so. Chef was out of town but Teddy was one of the nicest guys we have met and we took a photo with him to share on our blog post about this fabulous restaurant.  I encourage everyone who goes to NYC to try out David Burke's Townhouse. You will thank me.

    1. It is a Hibiscus flower! AND they had me eat it, which I did and it was really good! I cannot remember the exact concoction of the drink but I know it had St. Germain Elderflower and champagne of some sort. I want one now :)
