The busy life - eating on the go while staying healthy

Ever since i started running, I find myself hungry a few hours after I eat. I gained nearly 5lbs within the first few months of running and it wasn't from muscle gain. While I was running off 1,000+ calories a week, I was constantly craving food and eating all the wrong stuff. With dedication and watching what I eat, I have lost those 5lbs and some!

While at BlogHer12, I visted the Dole Greenhouse booth where they were sampling a few of their new products. Everything I sampled ended up being an item I purchased for my home, office or for on the go snacks.  My office only has healthy snacks in it. It is the land of 100 calorie snack packs! I also do not keep snack foods in my house.

Most mornings, I do not have enough time to make a simple smoothie. I run into this problem a lot and end up grabbing a protein shake while running out the door. Now I have the option to grab a smoothie on the go instead! Dole Smoothie Shakers are my lifesaver. It is made with frozen yogurt beads and finely cut fruit. You simply remove from the freezer, add your favorite juice and shake for 30-‐45 seconds. Bam, you have an instant real fruit yogurt smoothie. I have these stocked in my office. The mixed berry flavor also has 5 grams of protein!

My favorite product introduced at The Greenhouse Booth was Dole Frozen Fruit Single Serving Cups. I love the Sliced Strawberries but the cups come two other options - pineapple and blueberry. There are no added sugars or preservatives that you would find in traditional fruit cups. They are lifesaver for making smoothies in a flash. No need for measuring out a bag of frozen fruit, it is already done for you. At 35 calories a cup, these are a winner in my freezer. Dole Frozen Fruit Cups also make a simple and healthy strawberry daiquiri! No more slicing berries or worrying about berry's going rotten!

We were also introduced to Dole Real Fruit Bites. They come in apple, pineapple and mango. These dried fruit bites are covered in yogurt and whole grain oats. The yogurt apple chunks were my favorite of the group and had 80 calories a pack. Presently, I carry a package of real fruit bites in my purse at all times.

How do you stay healthy on the go?
